The Broomfield Police Department announced in a news release that it had arrested a suspect in the slaying of a 43-year-old female on Thursday. According to that news release, 43-year-old Daniel Krug was apprehended on December 16, 2023 and booked into the Broomfield Detention Center on a charge of First Degree Murder.

At this time, Krug is being held without bond pending formal charges. Officers with the Broomfield Police Department responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Promontory Loop around noon on December 14, 2023 for a welfare check.

Upon arrival, officers found a deceased 43-year-old female inside the residence. At this time, authorities are not providing any further details. Anyone with information relevant to the case is asked to contact Detective Justin Marshall with the Broomfield Police Department at 720-887-5268.
