The Memphis Police Department has arrested 15 and 14-year-old females in carjacking at Ethlyn Avenue and Silver Street

According to a Memphis Police Department social media post, officers responded to the area of Ethlyn Avenue and Silver Street around 5:13 PM on November 10, 2023 for a report of a carjacking. Officers were informed that the victim was at a stop sign when he was approached by two juvenile females. The girls told the victim they needed his car.

When the 63-year-old victim refused, the teenage girls allegedly pulled him out of his vehicle. Police say the teenagers drove away but returned to get the key to the vehicle. The victim was able to flee and contact authorities leading to a broadcast being put out on the stolen vehicle.

Roughly 30 minutes later, an officer saw the vehicle in the area of Barron Avenue and Lamar Avenue. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver refused to stop. A pursuit came to an end when the stolen vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle crash at Barron Avenue and Prescott Road. A male suspect fled on foot and has not been located. Two female suspects were taken into custody.

The Memphis Police Department says a 15-year-old female has been charged with carjacking and attempted robbery. A 14-year-old female has been charged with carjacking and attempted robbery.
