The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office announced in a social media post that detectives were investigating a shooting that occurred on November 20, 2023 in Camden City. Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez announced that the shooting victim later passed away.

Camden County Police responded to the area of Hunter Drive following a 911 call of a person shot around 9:08 p.m. on November 20, 2023. Once officers reached the scene, they found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Cooper University Hospital where he remained in critical condition. The victim was pronounced deceased around 1:25 p.m. on December 15, 2023. Authorities have identified the victim as 38-year-old Anthony Young of Camden City.
