On November 11, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Knoxville Police were dispatched to Market Square to investigate a complaint. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with several lacerations. The suspect was not at the scene when the police arrived.

According to a KPD Facebook post, a 36-year-old male was involved in a physical altercation when the individual stabbed him with a broken bottle.

The victim was treated at UT Medical Center for potentially non-life-threatening injuries.
