Santa Rosa CHP officers responded to a fatal DUI crash earlier this evening. According to a social media post from the California Highway Patrol, officers were dispatched to a head-on collision on Roblar Road west of Stony Point Road around 5:13 PM.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that one of the drivers was seriously injured. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to authorities, the preliminary investigation indicates that a female driving a Volvo SUV was traveling westbound.
A male driver of a Toyota truck was traveling eastbound. The driver of the Volvo reportedly allowed her vehicle to drift left and cross over the double yellow lines into the other lane. A head-on collision occurred taking the life of the male driver of the Toyota.
The female driving the Volvo was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with major injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. CHP said officers determined that the female driver was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
