The Fairfax County Police Department announced that detectives have arrested a serial burglar for the fifth time within a 102-day period for multiple crimes throughout the county. 22-year-old Angel Argueta Galeas, of Hybla Valley, was arrested on Tuesday morning. Since then, officers have been investigating his possible connection to other crimes.
According to a news release from the Fairfax County Police Department, Argueta Galeas was in possession of several items that were suspected to be stolen at the time of his arrest. Once detectives identified the items’ owners and confirmed they were stolen, additional warrants were acquired for the suspect’s arrest.
Argueta Galeas was released on bond on Thursday before the warrants were obtained. Fugitive Track and Apprehension Unit Detectives began working to locate the suspect. Yesterday, he was located operating a stolen Hyundai Sonata with stolen license plates, according to authorities.
Argueta Galeas was taken into custody before authorities determined the vehicle was stolen out of the West Springfield Police District earlier that day. Argueta Galeas has been charged with three counts of Misdemeanor Destruction of Property, three counts of Petit Larceny, three counts of Vehicle Trespassing, and one count of Credit Card Theft.
He is also facing charges of Grand Larceny – Auto Theft, Destruction of Property, Petit Larceny, and Violating Conditions of his Release. He is being held on no bond.
