The Colchester Police Department has announced it has arrested a man in connection to a shooting with no injuries. According to a social media post from the Colchester Police Department, the department received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting incident behind 363 Ethan Allen Avenue around 8:44 PM on December 15, 2023.

The shooting was reportedly the result of a dispute over a possible stolen vehicle. Following an investigation, authorities charged 52-year-old Todd Kessler, of Essex Junction, with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and DUI #3. Authorities say Kessler was released on conditions of release and has to appear before the Chittenden County Superior Court in Burlington at a later date.

At this time, there is no evidence of an injury related to the shooting. Police believe this is an isolated event and there is no threat to the public.
