On November 9, 2023 just before 11:30 PM, Washington County Deputies were informed of a drone drop at Washington State Prison in Davisboro, Georgia. Deputies found a suspicious vehicle near Highway 231 and South Sparta Davisboro Road. A deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused and continued. The vehicle was pursued onto Highway 88 for several miles until it entered Jefferson County.

The deputy performed a PIT maneuver to stop the vehicle. The vehicle spun and crashed into a ditch and embankment area. Georgia State Patrol was requested to work the accident. Inside the vehicle, authorities found a drone and other contraband, according to a social media post from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The contraband dropped earlier at the prison was found by the Georgia Department of Corrections.

One of the arrested, Jonquez Jackson, had an outstanding felony warrant in Richmond County. Travis Calloway was also charged and had an outstanding warrant as well. Both are facing multiple felony charges. The driver, Jonquez Jackson, may face traffic charges.
