The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a collision involving an SUV and bicyclist. According to a social media post from Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a serious injury crash on STH 16/60 near Roche Road in Elba around 5:20 PM on December 15, 2023.

Authorities say the initial investigation revealed that a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by a 28-year-old female from Columbus was traveling eastbound when the SUV struck a 31-year-old male from Fond du Lac on a bicycle. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but was wearing dark clothing and did not have lighting on.

Authorities say the crash happened near the fog line. The bicyclist suffered serious injuries that are potentially life-threatening. He was transported to UW-Hospital by Life Star EMS. The driver of the SUV was not injured.
