The Delaware State Police announced it had arrested a 56-year-old Seaford man for home improvement fraud on Wednesday. According to a news release from the Delaware State Police, Derek Green was arrested on Wednesday. On December 13, 2023, a Bridgeville man informed State Police of a home improvement fraud.

Troopers learned that Derek Green, who owns Mason Construction LLC, had previously agreed to build a sunroom addition onto the victim’s house with construction supposed to begin in October 2023.

The 69-year-old victim reportedly paid Green just over $13,000 to do the work which was never completed. State Police say the contract was not fulfilled and the victim’s money was never reimbursed. On December 13, 2023, Green turned himself into State Police and was charged with Home Improvement Fraud over $1,500 and Victim is 62 Years of Age or Older and Theft by False Pretense Over $1,500.

After being arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, Green was released on his own recognizance.
