An adult female and two juveniles were arrested for their role in a violent beating that left two teens with severe head injuries. Authorities believe the suspects were members of a criminal street gang. The adult female has been identified as Lesly Ortiz of Thousand Oaks. The juvenile suspects have not been identified at this time.
Ventura County deputies patrolling in Thousand Oaks were dispatched to the 500 block of Brossard Drive on December 8, 2023, to investigate an attack on two juveniles. Upon arrival, deputies found two teen victims suffering from severe head injuries.
Medics transported the two victims to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed three suspects, one adult female, and two teens, attacked the victims with brass knuckles and a hammer. Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit apprehended all three suspects at a home in the 600 block of Avenida Del Platino.
Detectives executed a search warrant at the above residence. The search revealed the suspects were in possession of several pieces of evidence related to the crime.
Lesly Ortiz has been remanded to the Ventura County Main Jail on attempted homicide and participation in a criminal street gang charges. Ortiz’s bond was set at $650,000. Ortiz was scheduled to be arraigned today in Ventura County Superior Court.
The juvenile suspects have been remanded to the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center on attempted homicide and participation in a criminal street gang charges.
