On November 6, 2023, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Houston Police investigated a collision involving a 64-year-old man at 5800 Westheimer Road. Officers spoke to the 31-year-old driver involved in the crash and witnesses about what happened.

Witnesses told police that security at a convenience store asked the man who was drinking to leave. The man immediately complied and raced across the street outside a crosswalk when the driver of a silver Honda Accord struck him.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responding to the fatal crash pronounced the unidentified man deceased. The driver was released, according to the news release.
