December 27, 1993. Nurse and mother of two, Latricia White, is discovered dead in her bed having been shot six times in the head. There is no sign of a struggle and nothing in the house appears to have been disturbed causing investigators to suspect Latricia’s live-in boyfriend Lee ‘Dub’ Wackerhagen. However, there is one problem.
Lee and his 9-year-old son, Chance, have vanished. Three days later, Lee’s vehicle will be discovered in a high-crime area 30 miles from Austin, Texas. Inside, detectives find a toolbox, spare tire, bloodstained Christmas gifts, and a hunting rifle. The rifle has not been fired and the blood does not belong to Latricia White.
Regardless of the new evidence, investigators are adamant that Dub Wackerhagen is responsible for the murder of Latricia White. He will be charged with murder while Lee’s family remains convinced that he and his son are also victims of foul play. There is no sign of either until Chance’s grandfather receives a startling call which he believes came from his grandson but Dub’s family does not.
A voice on the other end says, “Help me! Help me!” before the line goes dead. Today, detectives have changed their opinion now saying that Latricia’s ex-husband might’ve been responsible. Were detectives wrong all along? What happened to Lee Wackerhagen and his son? Will anyone ever be held responsible for the heinous murder of Latricia White?
