The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred yesterday. According to a social media post from the Baton Rouge Police Department, the shooting occurred on December 9, 2023 in the area of North 32nd Street and Bogan Walk around 11:40 PM. Officers were dispatched to a hospital in reference to an adult male who arrived in a private vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

Authorities say the victim was rushed into surgery, but later succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Ricky Scott. BRPD confirms the investigation is ongoing.
