The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office announced in a social media post that a man wanted in connection with an October murder had been taken into custody. Caleb Sloan was wanted in connection to the October 3rd murder of Brandon Egeler in Poulsbo. According to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, Sloan was taken into custody on December 8.
Around 1:45 PM, deputies with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office were notified that members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were in pursuit of a stolen gray Acura Integra with Sloan behind the wheel. As the vehicle was heading into Kitsap on the Hood Canal Bridge, Jefferson County deputies lost sight of it.
A Kitsap County Deputy located the vehicle on Highway 104 between Port Gamble and Kingston. The deputy pursued the car into Kingston where Sloan crashed into an Amazon delivery truck at the intersection of NE West Kingston Road and South Kingston Road NE. Sloan fled from the car on foot to the beach.
Following a brief foot pursuit, Sloan was apprehended and taken into custody. Authorities say a second suspect, Askel Storm, was apprehended in Pacific County on October 27. Arrest warrants for 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree burglary were issued for both men in early October.
