Three North Carolina Men Arrested For Vacant Carolina Mill Fire In Burlington

Three men have been charged in connection with a fire at the abandoned Carolina Mill at 2058 Carolina Mill Road. James Riley Cockman, William Steven Holland, and Leyton James Lockemy were arrested on multiple felony charges on December 6 and 7, 2023.

Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to the above address at 4:03 a.m. on November 25, 2023, to investigate a report of a fire.

Over the course of the investigation, detectives determined Holland, Cockman, and Lockemy were responsible for the mill fire in the Carolina community.

 

21-year-old James Riley Cockman of Gibsonville North Carolina – breaking and entering (felony) and burning certain buildings (felony)

20-year-old Leyton James Lockemy of Burlington, North Carolina – breaking and entering (felony) and burning certain buildings (felony)

20-year-old William Steven Holland of Gibsonville, North Carolina – breaking and entering (felony) and burning certain buildings (felony)

Cockman remains in jail on a $60,000 secured bond. Holland remains in jail on a $25,000 secured bond. Lockemy was released on a $25,000 secured bond.
