Authorities say two men have been arrested in connection with a kidnapping and assault that spanned over multiple days in Eveleth. Both suspects have been booked into the St. Louis County Jail in Duluth. 37-year-old Paul Anthony Debelak was booked on probable cause criminal sexual conduct. 29-year-old Jacob Austin Holm was booked on probable cause criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping.

It is alleged that the incident began on or around November 27 at a private residence in Eveleth’s north end. A female victim was sexually assaulted and beaten. A man was kidnapped before being taken to 413 Grant Avenue in Eveleth. Authorities say the male victim was held at the address against his will for an extended period and beaten.

The victims eventually managed to escape and flee the city. The victims reported the incident to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension on December 1 leading to an investigation. According to authorities, the victims are in stable condition.
