The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a report of a shooting in the 21000 block of Akawi Way around 11:40 PM on December 6, 2023. Patrol deputies responded to the area and arrived after midnight because of the distance, according to authorities. Outside, deputies made contact with a male with non-life-threatening injuries.

Medical aid was provided. The Tactical Support Group, TSG, responded to the scene. TSG includes SWAT, negotiators, medics, K9, and other necessary resources. At one point, SWAT made entry into the address and found four deceased adults. Authorities say they have yet to determine the involvement and relationships of the deceased.

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will provide further details about the deceased in the future. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office explains that initial information indicates all events occurred before law enforcement arrived. There is no threat to the community.
