The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an elementary school custodian after allegedly committing sexual crimes against a juvenile. On December 6, 2023, detectives took 24-year-old Jonathan Martinez Casillas into custody for his alleged involvement in sexual acts against a juvenile between March 2018 and June 2018.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says it does not have reason to believe any of the children at the school were victimized. Casillas has been employed by the Bevis Elementary School since September 2019.

Hillsborough County Schools were reportedly not aware of the incident at the time of his hiring. Although the incident took place in 2018, it was only recently brought to law enforcement.
