Pasadena, Texas – The Pasadena Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at Pasadena Memorial High School around 6 p.m. on February 1, 2025.

According to PPD, a white male in his 80s entered the side doors of the school where a band competition was being held with numerous schools.

Two minutes later, the man is accused of firing a small caliber weapon and hitting another white male who is roughly 26 years old.

Police say a citizen tackled the man with the weapon and others got involved to help disarm and detain the suspect. The victim was taken to an area hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.

Police are not providing any additional details at this time. Police say all PISD schools will have counselors available to students and a heavier police presence in the upcoming days.
