Gresham, Oregon – The Gresham Police Department is currently investigating the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Jose Gutierrez.

According to a GPD statement, Gutierrez was shot in the 2800 block of Northeast Rene Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on January 20, 2025.

On January 29, 2025, Gutierrez succumbed to his injuries. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that the victim died of homicide by gunfire.

The East County Major Crimes Team is investigating the shooting. No other details are available at this time.
