Kanawha County, West Virginia – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a suspect following a police pursuit on Wednesday night.
According to a KCSO statement, deputies attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle on Winfield Road in Saint Albans around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Sheriff’s Officer said that the driver, 34-year-old Cynthia Ward of Charleston, fled, recklessly passed vehicles, and nearly struck a Winfield officer who was deploying stop sticks.
The pursuit ended on US Route 35 near I-64 when Ward’s vehicle ran out of gas, according to authorities. Ward allegedly attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by K9 Bill.
Authorities say Ward is facing numerous charges, including Fleeing While DUI and Obstructing Officers. She is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.
