Birmingham, Alabama – The Birmingham Police Department has announced an arrest in the death of Damian Dawson. According to BPD, detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of 24-year-old Vivian Brantley of Graysville.
Dawson was fatally shot and killed during a domestic violence incident in the 100 block of 9th Court West on January 27, according to police.
BPD says Brantley turned herself in at BPD Headquarters hours after the murder. Police say she is the ex-girlfriend of the victim.
On January 29, BPD Homicide Detectives presented case information to the Jefferson County Magistrate’s Office. She was issued a Murder warrant.
Brantley is being held at the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
