Jackson, Tennessee – The Jackson Police Department has announced charges in this case. On January 22, JPD officers responded to 550 Old Hickory Apartments for an unresponsive child.

At the scene, authorities attempted to resuscitate the child but were unsuccessful. The child was pronounced deceased at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

According to a JPD statement, Judon Roberson Jr. was in care of the child. Roberson allegedly said that the child drowned in the bathroom after he left the child alone in the tub.

On January 24, 2025, Roberson was arraigned on charges of Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect. JPD says an autopsy’s preliminary findings showed blunt force trauma as a cause of death.

Roberson had now been charged with Felony Murder in Perpetration of Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect.
