Garland, Texas – The Garland Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal shooting off Chaha Road on January 21, 2025.

GPD has identified the victim as 36-year-old Stephanie Lynn Wenneberg of Garland. Around 2 a.m. on January 21, 2025, GPD responded to reports of a gunshot wound at an apartment complex in the 4500 block of Chaha Road.

At the scene, responding officers found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot. The victim was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police believe there was a disturbance in the parking lot involving a male and two females. Police say the male, 39-year-old Robert Ray Kelly of Dallas, shot one of the females during the argument.

Kelly reportedly fled the scene after the shooting. Police are still looking for Kelly.
