Afghanistan refugee stabs caseworker assisting refugees according to Oakland County Sheriff’s Office

Oakland County, Michigan – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office says an Afghanistan refugee has been arrested in connection to the stabbing of a caseworker helping refugees.

According to an OCSO statement, deputies in Orion Township responded to a 911 call for a male who had been stabbed multiple times.

The suspect had reportedly fled the scene in his vehicle. OCSO says the investigation determined that the suspect is an Afghanistan refugee and the victim is a caseworker for a company that assists refugees.

The suspect has been taken into custody. The victim is reportedly in surgery with very serious stab wounds. No other details are available at this time.
