Prince George’s County, Maryland – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has announced the arrest of a man for allegedly murdering his girlfriend.

According to authorities, 30-year-old Devontae Gray is charged with murdering 29-year-old Alexis Schuler.

On January 18, 2025, the Metropolitan Police Department contacted PGCP to ask for assistance in a missing persons investigation. According to a PGPD statement, Alexis Schuler was reported missing to MPDC last week.

On January 19, PGPD carried out a search warrant at the residence of Devontae Gray in the 700 block of Larchmont Avenue in Capital Heights.

PGPD says it located the victim’s body during the search. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that the victim had been shot. Authorities allege that Gray admitted to murdering Schuler.

Detectives believe Gray murdered the victim during a dispute. Gray is charged with First-Degree Murder and related charges. He is currently being held in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
