Fayetteville, North Carolina – The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred just before 8 a.m. on Monday.

According to FPD, officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting in the 700 block of Topeka Street. At the scene, officers found a victim who was pronounced deceased.

Authorities have identified the victim as 22-year-old Jylin Matute Ayala of Fayetteville. Police have not said anything about the suspect at this time.
