Case of Strasburg man accused of raping and sexually assaulting a juvenile will go forward

Lancaster County, Pennsylvania – The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office has announced that the case against a Strasburg man will go forward after he waived his preliminary hearing this week.

Authorities say Brent Matthew Groff is facing charges, including Rape of a Child, Incest of a Minor, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse With a Child, and more.

The 25-year-old is accused of raping and sexually assaulting the victim multiple times and at multiple locations between around 2015 until around October 2023.

The victim, who is now 17, told police that Groff began assaulting her at a Pequea Township residence they shared in the 100 block of Charleston when she was about eight.

Around that time, Groff would’ve been 16. Authorities say Groff denied the victim’s allegations when he first spoke to investigators.

He allegedly later called police to admit that many of the claims were true.
