Shelby County, Tennessee – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to a deadly shooting at a gas station on Saturday night.
According to a SCSO statement, deputies responded to a shooting outside a gas station in the 5300 block of US Highway 51 around 10 p.m. on January 11.
Police say an adult male was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. In a statement, police said detectives identified the suspect as 39-year-old Anthony Nelson.
A BOLO was issued throughout the state. Around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nelson was taken into custody in Santillo, Tennessee, according to the sheriff’s Office.
Nelson is charged with 2nd Degree Murder. He was booked into the Hardin County Jail while awaiting transfer to the Shelby County Jail.
Update – The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of the shooting as 37-year-old Thomas Perry of Millington.
