Knoxville Police investigating shooting at apartment on River Maple Way

Knoxville, Tennessee – The Knoxville Police Department is currently investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday.

According to KPD, the shooting occurred at an apartment complex on River Maple May. One victim was transported to UTMC via a personal vehicle.

Police said in a statement that the victim’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening. No other details are available at this time.

Update – In an update, KPD said a 20-year-old man was wounded in a shooting at the Riverview Park Apartment complex parking lot.

The incident happened around 2:40 p.m. on January 12, 2025. KPD officers responded to a report of shots fired and found shell casings at the scene.

KPD said in a statement that multiple parked vehicles had been struck by gunfire. The victim arrived at UT Medical Center in a personal vehicle.

Police say the victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening. Police believe that multiple individuals were involved in the shooting which may have stemmed from an ongoing personal dispute.

No one is in custody and no one has been charged.
