Portsmouth, Virginia – The Portsmouth Police Department has announced an arrest in connection to a stabbing on Sunday morning.

According to PPD, officers responded to a call about a stabbing in the 1000 block of Frederick Boulevard around 8:40 a.m. on January 12, 2025.

Police say officers found an adult male suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PPD said in a statement that officers arrested 29-year-old Deaquan V. Johnson who is charged with Attempted Murder, Malicious Wounding, and Unlawful Stabbing.
