Marion, Indiana – Indiana State Police say they are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Marion, Indiana. According to ISP, Grant County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 3000 block of East County Road 450 N for a report of an individual threatening to harm another person around 6:47 p.m.
According to an ISP statement, deputies instructed the individuals inside to come outside. A man identified as 52-year-old Glenn A. Smock allegedly exited the residence armed with a shotgun.
Smock is accused of discharging his shotgun and hitting one deputy. Deputies discharged their weapons leading to Smock being hit at least once. Smock allegedly barricaded himself inside the residence.
ISP says Smock exited a short time later and was taken into custody. Smock was transported to an area hospital by medical helicopter for treatment. The deputy was treated at an area hospital and released.
