The Chesapeake Police Department reports that it is investigating another homicide on Sunday. According to CPD, its officers responded to 1200 George Washington Highway for a body found in the water along the shoreline of the park entrance.

CPD says its Underwater Search and Rescue Team retrieved the male victim’s body from the water before it was determined that the victim suffered apparent gunshot wounds.

Detectives say they are investigating the death as a homicide. CPD is not providing any other details at this time.
