A juvenile has been charged as an adult in an armed carjacking that took place in the 100 block of 12^th Street at 4:10 p.m. on November 29, 2023. Devonta Lynch, 17, of Southeast, DC is facing an armed carjacking charge as an adult.

According to a social media post from the DC Metropolitan Police Department, the victim was outside the victim when Lynch and another juvenile approached. The juveniles held the victim at gunpoint before fleeing in the stolen vehicle. Officers located the stolen vehicle in the 1000 block of 15^th Street.

The investigation is ongoing. Investigators ask anyone with information regarding the armed carjacking on 12^th Street to call 202-727-9099. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Metropolitan Police Department is offering a joint reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) involved in the crime.
