The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has announced charges in connection to a school incident on December 4, 2024. According to SCSO, deputies responded to a Sumter County School for a report that 30-year-old Evelyn Telicia Jefferson was disturbing the school and allegedly trying to attack a school administrator.
Authorities allege that Jefferson continuously issued threats toward the school’s administrator. The administrator reportedly found it necessary to go into an office and lock the door.
SCSO says it is alleged that Jefferson created a large disturbance and made serious threats of bodily harm against the administrator. Jefferson of Rembert, South Carolina is charged with Assault and Battery Third Degree and Nonstudent Interfering, Disrupting, Disturbing Schools.
Jefferson turned herself into investigators at the sheriff’s office and was booked into the Detention Center. She was released on a $2,500 bond.
