The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office is currently on the scene of a shooting at the Sunset Motel in Brooksville, according to a social media post.

HCSO says the incident occurred around 9:21 p.m. on Wednesday and left one person injured.

Authorities say the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The victim’s status is not known at this time.

A person of interest is in custody, according to HCSO. Authorities say there is no danger to the community.
