Newberg-Dundee Police arrest suspects in shooting on Sunday evening

The Newberg-Dundee Police Department said in a statement that its officers responded to a shots fired complaint near the intersection of Highway 99W and 11th Street in Dundee on Sunday evening.

NDPD says a caller reported seeing two vehicles possibly involved in a road rage incident and one of the occupants shooting at the other vehicle. The caller provided authorities with descriptions of the vehicles involved.

According to NDPD, an officer intercepted a vehicle matching the description as it was speeding recklessly through downtown Newberg. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver did not stop leading to a vehicle pursuit.

Police say the pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into multiple parked vehicles in the 1100 block of North Meridian Street. One of those vehicles was occupied. A 47-year-old man suffered significant injuries and was taken to OHSU.

NDPD confirms it arrested two suspects. 43-year-old William Gabrielsen of Hillsboro was charged with Elude, Assault in The Third Degree, Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver to Injured Persons, two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Perform Duties of a Driver for Damaged Property, Driving Under The Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Driving While Suspected.

Gabrielsen is also charged with three counts each of Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree and Reckless Endangering, Resisting Arrest, and Interfering with a Police Officer.

The passenger, 20-year-old Neo Gabrielsen, was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Hindering Prosecutor, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
