The Weber County Sheriff’s Office reports that its deputies were involved in a deputy-involved shooting on Sunday. WBCO says its deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at an apartment at 2265 South 1100 W in West Haven.

The Sheriff’s Office says a complainant reported that a male and female had been arguing and the male had damaged property. According to authorities, deputies found that the male had gone back into the apartment where the female was still located and barricaded the door.

Deputies reportedly attempted to contact the couple at the door when they heard a disturbance inside, according to WCSO. Authorities say deputies forced entry because they were worried about the female’s safety.

WCSO alleges the man brandished a knife and began to advance on the deputies leading to three deputies firing rounds at the man. The female was not harmed. The male suspect succumbed to his injuries.
