Peoria Police Department responded to the 1000 block of S. Shelley Street around 12:17 a.m. on December 4, 2023, to investigate a report of a home invasion. An adult male told the responding officers that four armed males forced their way into his home and stole personal items. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.

Authorities located the stolen vehicle on December 4, 2023, around 3 p.m. in the 1600 block of N. Lehman Road. Officers witnessed a 17-year-old male get into the vehicle and drive away. When officers tried to stop the stolen vehicle, the suspect fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief chase.

The suspect was interviewed at the Peoria Police Department. Officers later arrested the suspect on a charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and remanded to the Juvenile Detention Center.
