The Madera County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media statement that it is investigating a shooting in Chowchilla.

According to MCSO, Emergency Communications received a report of a shooting in the area of Road 22 and Santa Fe Drive in Chowchilla on the afternoon of November 16, 2024.

Authorities say deputies found an adult female victim who was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment. MCSO Investigators believe the shooting took place at residence in the area.

Authorities say they obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 26000 block of Road 22. The suspect is still outstanding, according to MCSO.
