The Santa Cruz Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that sent two people to the hospital.

SCPD reports that there was a disturbance near Almar Avenue and Rankin Street on Friday evening. SCPD says two people were shot.

Both individuals were transported to an area hospital for treatment, according to authorities. Police say the investigation into the disturbance is ongoing.
