The Terre Haute Police Department said in a social media statement that it is investigating a fatal train collision that killed a bicyclist on Thursday evening.

THPD reports that its officers responded to the incident in the 1500 block of Ash Street. Police confirm the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

THPD’s Crash Investigation Team has responded to help the Uniform Division investigate the incident. Police confirm the intersection of N 15 Street and Ash Street will remain closed for an extended period as the investigation continues.
