Knoxville shooting on Woodbine Avenue critically injures man

The Knoxville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in connection to a shooting on Sunday afternoon. KPD reports that its officers were informed a man had been shot multiple times and arrived at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

KPD says the victim was transported to the UT Medical Center in critical condition. KPD detectives believe the victim was shot in the 3000 block of Woodbine Avenue, drove away, and parked in a parking lot in the area of Baxter Avenue and Marion Street.

The victim was picked up and transported to Fort Sanders Medical Center, according to Knoxville authorities. KPD is looking for a suspect vehicle described as a black full-size SUV that was spotted leaving the area after the shooting.

Authorities have not identified a motive for the shooting.
