The Boise Police Department confirms that one of its officers was involved in an officer-involved shooting on Sunday. BPD reports that its officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances involving a possible hostage or violent situation.
Police say officers responded to the 1300 block of North Liberty Street and initiated an investigation. BPD says an officer-involved shooting occurred during the contact. One officer fired their weapon, according to Boise police.
BPD says the suspect was transported to an area hospital. The Ada County Sheriff’s Office will lead the Critical Incident Task Force investigation. Authorities are not providing any other details at this time.
