Santa Fe Police are searching for an early Sunday morning murder suspect

Update – Santa Fe Police confirm Antonio Montejano is in custody. SFPD reports that a New Mexico State Police Tactical Team and members of the Espanola Police Department apprehended Montejano in Espanola, New Mexico.

He will be transported to Santa Fe where he will be interviewed by detectives. Authorities also say missing person Nikki Marie Jo Mascarenas has been located safely.

Original – Santa Fe Police say they are searching for a Sunday morning murder suspect. Around 3 a.m. on November 10, SFPD says its officers responded to the 3700 block of Camino Tierra Real following a 911 call about a man who had been shot following an argument.

The caller reported that the suspect had fled on foot, according to police. At the scene, police say they found the victim, 40-year-old Rosendo Romero, who had recently been residing in Santa Fe.

Police confirm the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. According to SFPD detectives, the suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Antonio Montejano who is not in custody at this time.

Police say Montejano is wanted for Murder. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Detective Anthony Sweeny at 505-955-5401.
