Update – Seattle Police say they have arrested a man following a mass-casualty incident and a series of similar stabbings over the past 40 hours in the Chinatown-International District on Friday afternoon.
SPD says the incident started on Thursday around 1:35 a.m. when officers responded to a stabbing near 12th Avenue South and South King Street. Police say they found a 52-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Police say they located a blood trail and possible crime scene near 8th Avenue South and South King Street. Evidence was collected, but the suspect was not located, according to Seattle Police.
Around 12:19 p.m. on Thursday, police found a 32-year-old man with stab wounds near 8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. The victim was also transported to HMC in serious condition. SPD says the suspect was described as a black male wearing a checkered hoody.
Around 8 p.m. on November 7, officers say they found a 37-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds near 8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. A possible suspect was located near an abandoned building at 10th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.
A 34-year-old man was arrested for having a felony warrant for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Police say the suspect was armed with a knife. His involvement in the stabbing is still under investigation.
Around 8:39 p.m. on November 7, SPD responded to a report of an assault in the 800 block of South King Street under the I-5 freeway overpass. At the scene, police say they found a 60-year-old victim inside a vehicle with a laceration to the hand.
Police say the suspect approached the victim’s vehicle on foot, forcibly opened the driver’s side door, and attempted to stab the victim in the chest. The victim suffered a cut to the hand. His cell phone was also taken during the robbery. The victim was taken to HMC for treatment.
Around 1 a.m. on November 8, officers responded to the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street where they found a victim bleeding heavily from a neck injury. The 53-year-old male victim was transported to HMC in serious condition.
On Friday afternoon, SPD said it arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed five people in the Chinatown-International District. At 2 p.m., police responded to the intersection of 10 Avenue South and South Jackson Street for reports of five people stabbed.
Police took the suspect into custody without further incident. Four victims were transported to HMC for treatment of serious injuries. One victim was treated and released. Detectives are working to identify the suspect who is between 30 and 40 years old.
Original – The Seattle Police Department reports it is investigating a stabbing that injured five people. SPD made the announcement just before 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
SPD says five people were stabbed in the 1200 block of South Jackson Street. No other details are being provided at this time.
In an update, officers said one person was taken into custody.
Four victims were taken to Harborview Medical Center. One was treated and released at the scene.
