The Bradenton Police Department is investigating the tragic death of 27-year-old Sherrone Jackson. BPD says detectives are investigating the death of a man found injured in a West Bradenton neighborhood in the early hours of October 30, 2024.

Police say Jackson, who is a resident of Sarasota County, was dropped off by a ride-share service near the intersection of 68th Street West and 12th Avenue around 10:45 p.m. on October 29.

Jackson reportedly intended to pick up a spare key left in the mailbox of a nearby home and return to Sarasota County using another ride-share. Detectives believe Jackson was still waiting for the ride-share at 11:55 p.m.

Around 1:45 a.m., a passerby found Jackson unconscious near the intersection. Police say doctors determined that he suffered a traumatic brain injury although the cause is not known at this time.

Jackson never regained consciousness and passed away on November 6. At the time, Jackson was wearing black Nike shorts, a white tank top, black slide sandals, and a red trucker-style hat with “Badlands” on the front.
