Maryland State Police announced that it is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier Saturday morning in Cecil County. Police say the shooting claimed two lives and injured two others.

MSP reports that one of the deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Tamir Rasheek Davis of New Castle, Delaware. Authorities say Davis was pronounced deceased at Christianna Hospital.

Authorities say the second deceased victim has not been positively identified. Two other people suffered injuries and received treatment at hospitals. Police say one victim is at Union Hospital in Elkton and the other victim is at Christianna Hospital.

MSP Troopers responded to the area shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday morning after receiving a report of a man lying in the roadway. MSP Homicide unit investigators are leading the shooting investigation.
