Sacramento Police arrest Alethea Lee in fatal vehicle collision on Pocket Road

The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 26-year-old Alethea Lee in connection to a fatal vehicle collision on Pocket Road. On November 30, 2023 just after 6 PM, patrol officers with the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 8100 block of Pocket Road in reference to a vehicle collision involving several pedestrians.

The vehicle reportedly lost control before striking multiple pedestrians. Once officers reached the scene, they located three victims, including a female adult with life-threatening injuries and two juvenile children with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sacramento Fire Department personnel provided life-saving measures and transported the victims to area hospitals. The driver of the vehicle was still at the scene. The driver, 26-year-old Alethea Lee reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

Detectives from the Police Department’s Major Collision Investigations Unit responded and took over the investigation due to the severity of the injuries. The collision remains under investigation. Investigators believe speeds and impairment were contributing factors. Alethea Lee was arrested after she was released from the hospital.

Lee was booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail for driving while under the influence and causing great bodily injury. On December 3, 2023, detectives were informed that the female adult victim had succumbed to her injuries. As a result, Lee will be booked on additional charges of Gross Vehicular Manslaughter.
